Carnaby Rise Primary School believes in intentional play based learning opportunities therefore we have clear, visible and individualised learning goals. 

We believe play situations provide ideal opportunities for young learners to acquire language skills, as speech is highly predictable, patterned and repetitious and well contextualised, making it ideal for the learner and allowing them to be free to experiment with the language.

We believe that play should be enquiry based and child centred therefore we scaffold the learning that supports the whole child.

We believe play provides the opportunity for autonomous and collaborative learning therefore we provide feedback that encourages and supports child’s development. We believe play challenges children to take risks to learn what their limits are, therefore, we model and support ways of navigating complex situations in a safe environment.
